These scales are just about as safe as you can possibly get. To start with they have anti-microbial protection on resin surfaces to help prevent cross contamination but the outer shell is also removable and can be washed in a dishwasher to ensure every scrap of dirt is removed. The inner chassis, the real heart of the scales, is easy to slide out for cleaning too. The digital display is in ounce and pound/ounce in decimal, fractional and whole grams in increments : 0.005 lb or 0.1 oz or 1/8 oz or 1 g and there is a temperature-compensated load cell for use in refrigerated prep rooms plus it is field calibratable for accuracy, precision and peace of mind. It has a 200% overload protection and you can programme auto shutoff to conserve battery life. An AC adaptor and internal rechargeable battery is included and it can also be used with 4 x AA batteries (not included).
